My Approach

At Tangled Thread Therapy, I view people as complex, layered, and deeply shaped by the contexts they live in. Therapy is not about “fixing” what is wrong, but about slowing things down enough to understand what has been happening, what is getting in the way, and what feels most important to move toward.

My work is grounded in collaboration. I don’t see clients as problems to be solved, but as individuals who are the experts in their own lives. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you untangle thoughts, emotions, and patterns so they become more understandable and workable.

I draw primarily from CBT, DBT, and ACT-informed approaches, while adapting my work to fit each person rather than expecting them to fit a single method. I also value creativity, metaphor, and curiosity as tools for understanding experience, especially when words alone don’t feel like enough.

A core part of my approach is supporting autonomy and identity. I believe people deserve space to explore who they are without pressure to conform to expectations that don’t fit them. Therapy with me is a space where we can make sense of complexity, hold contradictions, and build a clearer sense of direction at your own pace.

About Me

I’m a counselling therapist working primarily with youth, teens, and young adults navigating emotions, identity, relationships, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting ADHD and neurodivergent individuals, especially those trying to understand how their minds work in a world that often feels mismatched to them.

I bring a direct but warm presence into the therapy space, and I value authenticity in my work. I’m often described as approachable, down-to-earth, and a little bit quirky — and I believe that showing up as a real person can help create a space where clients feel more comfortable doing the same.

Outside of therapy, I’m someone who is deeply drawn to creativity and meaning-making. I’ve always gravitated toward art, stories, and symbolism as ways of understanding the world. I also find a lot of grounding in nature, especially storms, mountains, and moments of quiet in the morning.

These interests naturally show up in my work, especially when clients find it helpful to explore their experiences through metaphor, imagery, or creative expression rather than traditional “talk-only” approaches.

At the centre of my work is a simple belief: people are not broken. They are often overwhelmed, shaped by their environments, and trying their best with the tools they have. Therapy is a space to build new understanding, new tools, and a stronger connection to yourself.
